Last week at WOMEX Black Lives in Music made a difference in the global music industry with the release of a new anti-racism code. It is a powerful call to action that addresses the pervasive racial disparities faced by Black musicians and professionals. This milestone resonates throughout the world of music and is deeply aligned with our mission at La Boîte interculturelle to promote intercultural understanding inclusivity and respect for diversity.
La Boîte Interculturelle demonstrates unity with this mission since its inception. We foster a world of creativity that celebrates diversity, value everyone’s voice and strengthen cultural connections. As we have seen through our initiatives diversity is the cornerstone of creativity and resiliency in our communities and in the arts.
Our projects include collaborating with artists from diverse backgrounds. and initiatives such as La Route de l’Interculturalité or Fields of artists. It aims to break down cultural barriers. The new anti-racism code initiated by Black Lives in Music is consistent with our goals and affirmations. We look forward to integrating these standards into our practices to support diversity and equity within the music and arts communities we work with.
As we continue our journey, we celebrate the launch of this Code and encourage everyone in the music and arts fields to embrace it. Together, we can build an industry where every voice is respected, heard, and valued. This is just the beginning of a brighter, more inclusive future for music.
