{"id":5030,"date":"2021-12-16T14:35:35","date_gmt":"2021-12-16T14:35:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.boiteinterculturelle.ca\/?p=5030"},"modified":"2023-02-10T12:16:54","modified_gmt":"2023-02-10T17:16:54","slug":"multiculturalism-in-rural-communities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boiteinterculturelle.ca\/en\/multiculturalism-in-rural-communities\/","title":{"rendered":"Multiculturalism in rural communities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In 2021, during the series of screenings of the documentary <em><a href=\"https:\/\/boiteinterculturelle.ca\/en\/documentaries\/documentary-mamu-ensemble-together\/\">Mamu Ensemble Together<\/a><\/em>, which focuses on <strong>music as a tool for dialogue<\/strong>, La Bo\u00eete conducted a survey of participants in order to find out the added value of intercultural projects carried out in rural areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A large majority of respondents (89%) somewhat agreed <\/strong>that there is a need in their community to discuss multiculturalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results are convincing and demonstrate an immediate need to work on awareness-raising and to have access to tools that facilitate dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We live in a vibrant multicultural country. Each brings a unique and different perspective which helps to enrich and broaden intercultural dialogue.
