{"id":7807,"date":"2022-06-21T07:21:35","date_gmt":"2022-06-21T11:21:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.boiteinterculturelle.ca\/?p=7807"},"modified":"2022-06-21T07:21:39","modified_gmt":"2022-06-21T11:21:39","slug":"a-new-project-by-la-boite-interculturelle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/boiteinterculturelle.ca\/en\/a-new-project-by-la-boite-interculturelle\/","title":{"rendered":"A new project by La Bo\u00eete interculturelle"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Saint-Adelphe (Qu\u00e9bec), June 21, 2022<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014\u00a0 Thanks to the support of the Government of Canada and in collaboration with partners across the Province of Quebec,\u00a0La Bo\u00eete interculturelle will launch in September 2022, a new project entitled\u00a0<strong>Weaving and Reweaving, an interactive musical experience<\/strong>. La Bo\u00eete will present a series of events aimed at bringing cultures together with music\u00a0as a facilitator agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project, which is\u00a0part of the Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program (Events), is the logical continuation of similar events that were held in the fall of 2021, which generated significant interest from regional organizations and citizens alike. This new project offers a unique opportunity to exchange with citizens in rural areas on the issues they face and together, find common\u00a0values and collective solutions in view of a better living together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project consists of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A program of regional ambassadors who will be the local spokespersons for the project.<\/li><li>Compilation of data for the subsequent production of a rural manifesto for intercultural rapprochement to which citizens will be called upon to contribute.<\/li><li>Audio-visual documentation of the exchanges for the production of video clips for ulterior distribution.<\/li><li>Musical presentation and exchange between Othman Wahabi, the lead artist of the project,\u00a0La famille M\u00e9langer (some venues), and citizens during public events.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In collaboration with:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mrcmatapedia.qc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">MRC de la Matap\u00e9dia<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/mrckamouraska.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">MRC de Kamouraska<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stalexkamouraska.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Municipalit\u00e9 de Saint-Alexandre<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/category\/Social-Club\/Coop%C3%A9ration-et-Amiti%C3%A9-Canada-Maroc-1847255652016907\/\" target=\"_blank\">Association Coop\u00e9ration et amiti\u00e9 Canada Maroc \u00e0 Drummondville<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cdc-hsf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Actions Interculturelles de Sherbrooke<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cdc-hsf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Carrefour emploi Lotbini\u00e8re<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cdc-hsf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Corporation de d\u00e9veloppement communautaire du Haut-Saint-Fran\u00e7ois<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cdc-hsf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Art et Culture Haut-Saint-Fran\u00e7ois<\/a><\/li><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/cdc-hsf.org\/activites\/concertation-diversite-culturelle-hsf\/\" target=\"_blank\">Diversit\u00e9 culturelle du Haut-Saint-Fran\u00e7ois<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The collaboration and support of partners from across Quebec are particularly important in programming, the development of collaborative tools, and the implementation of events.<br><strong><br>The complete schedule will be announced throughout this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Citation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em><em>The main reason I&#8217;ve dedicated my life to music is the power it provides to build bridges between people. It doesn&#8217;t matter the color of their skin, their religion, their orientation or even their political affiliation. That&#8217;s why I&#8217;m delighted to come and share my art with you. Because in the end, what brings us together, is stronger than what divides us<\/em><\/em>.<\/p><cite>Othman Wahabi<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In Brief<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/othmanwahabi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">OTHMAN WAHABI<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Othman Wahabi is a Canadian-Moroccan blues singer-songwriter, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and music producer. He carved out a place for himself in the blues trance genre. He is best known for his slide guitar work, smoky vocals, and eclectic records that often blend the blues with other musical influences, including rock, jazz, folk, and Northwest African melodies. And while some of his compositions are marked by deliberate versatility, other songs stay true to the traditional blues roots formula of compelling, engaging vocals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La famille M\u00e9langer\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0is an open musical formation whose members come from various origins interpreting songs in different languages \u200b\u200bwith a very particular style and mixing several musical instruments and their voices.The objective of the group is to promote the integration into Quebec society of immigrants and people of various cultural origins through the universal language of music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/boiteinterculturelle.ca\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">LA BOITE INTERCULTURELLE\u00a0<\/a><br>Created in 2018, La Bo\u00eete interculturelle is a non-profit organization located in Quebec, Canada.
