{"id":20284,"date":"2026-01-13T21:23:29","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T02:23:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/devlaboite.alex-wp.com\/projet\/mamu-ensemble-together-project-2019-2020\/"},"modified":"2026-04-07T20:36:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T00:36:14","slug":"mamu-ensemble-together-project-2019-2020","status":"publish","type":"projet","link":"https:\/\/boiteinterculturelle.ca\/en\/projet\/mamu-ensemble-together-project-2019-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Mamu Ensemble Together Project (2019-2020)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"bluebox\">MAMU ENSEMBLE TOGETHER was curated in Quebec in the community of Mani-utenam, on the North Shore of Quebec, and in the Mauricie region, with music as a tool for dialogue.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mamu Ensemble Together - teaser\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YO9koiv3nSE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>It is thanks to funding from the Government of Canada and in partnership with Innu Takuaikan Uashat Mak Mani-Utenam, Pasa Musik and more than 15 other partners across the province, that we were able to put together sixteen days of activities and workshops divided between Mani-utenam and the Mauricie region.<\/p>\n\n<p>The musicians who took part in this project, which aims to engage and build bridges between communities to promote multiculturalism and the fight against racism, were: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Shauit, a singer-songwriter originally from Mani-utenam<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salif Sanou \u2018Lasso\u2019 also songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Burkina Faso, and <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Saulo Olmedo Evans, multi-instrumentalist and a storyteller from Panama<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>To get a concrete idea of \u200b\u200bthe project, simply think of how much music has unique therapeutic and emotional characteristics. In fact, music has been shown to facilitate contact, interaction, and can also help people express themselves.  <\/p>\n\n<p>It\u2019s with that in mind that MAMU ENSEMBLE TOGETHER was curated so musicians could exchange with the communities on topics such as:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Does our culture determine our attitudes<em> towards others<\/em>? <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you believe that music has an important role to play in relationships with<strong> others<\/strong> and why?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What impact can a musical project like MAMU ENSEMBLE TOGETHER make in identify the common bonds that unite us all. We believe in the value of artistic and human capital and in the capacity of music as a tool for dialogue to open conversation and for it to make a significant impact in communities. <\/p>\n\n<p>With our ambassador and local musician, Mishta-Shipu McKenzie, son of Mr. Philippe Mckenzie, considered to be the father of modern Innu song, the musicians took part in activities, including school music workshops, round tables or cultural and social events.
