Who Has the Right to Move?| Intercultural Forum

La Boîte interculturelle invites the public to the Intercultural Forum – Who gets to participate (the Forum will be held in French), an event for reflection and dialogue to be held on March 28 at the Musée québécois de l’agriculture et de l’alimentation, located at 100, 4e Avenue, La Pocatière (G0R 1Z0).

In a context where issues of mobility, belonging, identity, and cultural coexistence are more than ever at the heart of social debates, this forum offers a space to think together about the movement of people, ideas, cultures, and narratives.

The forum will bring together panelists from a variety of backgrounds, whose experiences and expertise will fuel a discussion rooted in today’s realities:

  • Marie-Thérèse Landry, co-founder of a slam and poetry collective in Acadia and executive director of the Provincial Council of Cultural Societies.
  • Caroline Russell, intercultural liaison officer at the Service aux personnes immigrantes (SAPI) in Kamouraska.
  • Phylomène Zangio, founder of the Conseil provincial des personnes d’ascendance africaine du Nouveau-Brunswick (CPPAANB).
  • Caroline Marcoux-Gendron, associate professor in the Department of Music at UQAM and postdoctoral researcher in arts management at HEC Montréal.
  • Magalie Lefebvre, teacher-researcher at Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup and lecturer at UQAR and the University of Moncton.
  • Destiny Tchéhouali, associate professor of international communication at UQAM. Holder of the Quebec Research Chair in AI and Francophone Digital Technology and co-holder of the UNESCO Chair in Communication and Technologies for Development

The forum will be moderated by Éric Trudel, who will guide the discussions and facilitate dialogue between the panelists and the audience.

In addition to the discussions, the forum will feature:

The Blanket Exercise, an immersive and powerful experience designed to raise awareness of the history and realities of First Peoples, created by KAIROS Canada and adapted by Uashashkutuan.

A concert, Akawui, presented at La Baleine Endiablée
