What we are looking for
Artists grounded in their practice
- Mastery of their art — whether contemporary, traditional or ancestral. We value equally the artist who carries forward a craft passed down through generations and the one who reinvents their discipline.
- Voices from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Craft arts, storytelling and music are priorities — though artists working in dance, theatre and visual arts are equally welcome. We are looking for artists whose culture, origins and lived experience fuel their work and reflect the many ways of being and creating in Québec.

Human beings first
Beyond talent, we are looking for people who are sensitive to diverse human realities, able to listen as much as they create, and comfortable facilitating genuine encounters with people from all backgrounds.
Artists who believe that art can bring people closer, unite communities and spark change — and who know how to create that space alongside a community.
Evaluation of applications
How applications will be evaluated
- Ability to create with — not just for — a community The artist is comfortable in contexts of co-creation, active listening and adaptation. They know how to turn an encounter into artistic material.
- Capacity for dialogue and social transformation Beyond talent, we are looking for someone who believes that art can change how people relate to one another — and who has already, in some way, put that belief into practice.
- Complementarity with the other two selected artists La caravane is a collective project. The composition of the trio will take into account diversity of disciplines, origins and creative approaches to form a balanced and dynamic group.
Additional requirements
- Be a Canadian citizen or resident of Quebec.
- Be available for the duration of the project (dates to be confirmed based on all artists and local partners — 15 to 20 consecutive days between February and May 2027)
- Be available for an intercultural training session (half-day or full day).
- Be willing to share your experience with others
- Demonstrate a team spirit and collaborative mindset with the flexibility needed to adapt to changes.

- Be inclined to demonstrate an artistic approach (unique and personal)
- Be committed to completing the project in its entirety
