La Pocatière August 19, 2026 — La Boîte interculturelle is proud to announce the first edition of Foule’Art, an event combining music, encounters, and dialogue, made possible through the Government of Canada and our partners: Motel des Mariniers, Guylice cuisine et épicerie, Municipalité de Rivière-Ouelle, Canadian language museum, Camp musical de Saint-Alexandre de Kamouraska and Member of Parliament Bernard Généreux.
This free, festive evening brings together three artists with distinct artistic worlds, united by their ability to spark cultural dialogue through music. The event will take place on Saturday, November 7 at Salle municipale de Saint-Germain-de-Kamouraska (Théâtre des Prés) at 6pm.
The Kamouraska: A Territory at the Heart of the Project
The Kamouraska region already boasts a vibrant cultural life. Foule’Art aims to contribute to it by offering a complementary experience centered on direct encounters between artists and community members. Its positioning in the fall-winter season fills a gap in the regional calendar, providing the area with a distinctive cultural event during a quieter time of year.
An Evening in Five Acts
Early in the evening, the spotlight is on quick meet-and-greets with the artists, because art is first and foremost experienced through connection.
A “postcards to the future” station invites the public to sign in support of the arts as a driving force for connection, to send a message through time, all while chatting with the artists and discovering their journeys. This station will remain open throughout the evening. Later, these same artists take the stage: each concert becomes a deeply human experience, carried by the connections already formed earlier on.
Meanwhile, Foule’Art en Visages will capture the evening’s encounters through portraits, brought together in a photo carousel.
Guylice will be on-site offering tastings, another flavorful way to experience the evening.
Two travelling exhibitions from the Canadian Museum of Languages will also be presented, giving visitors a unique chance to learn at their own pace.
This format makes Foule’Art much more than a performance event: a platform for cultural mediation rooted in the Kamouraska community, open to a plurality of voices and horizons.
The Lineup
Wesli Kamouraska premiere
Born in Port-au-Prince and based in Montreal, Wesli (Wesley Louissaint) is one of Haiti’s most accomplished musical ambassadors. A 2019 JUNO Award and Félix Award recipient for World Music Album of the Year, he weaves traditional Haitian rhythms, vodou, rara, and twoubadou together with afrobeat, funk, and electronic music. His most recent album, Makaya, is a vibrant tribute to Haiti’s first maroon nations and to the African traditions carried by the diaspora.
CARINE AU MICRO (with Noël Mpiaza and Assane Seck) Kamouraska premiere
A Beninese artist based in Quebec, Carine au Micro draws on African musical traditions to deliver a warm and authentic stage presence. A collaborator of acclaimed musicians across Quebec and Montreal, she released her debut solo EP, O La Si, in 2018.
PÈLERINS DES DUNES
Pèlerins des dunes offers a hybridization of electronic music, world music, progressive rock, and jazz. The group’s unconventional instrumentation — synthesizers, transverse flute, clarinet, throat singing, darbuka, jaw harp, and electric guitar — creates an atmosphere that is at once festive and transcendent. A colorful, eclectic sonic experience not to be missed.
